Update on my status

7th Jan 2005: Still officially a Civilian

8th Jan 2005: Enlistment into National Service, officially a (Chao) Recruit . Went to Basic Military Training Centre School 2 (BMTC 2), Pegasus Company. I was in platoon 3, section 3, bed 4.

8th March 2005: Pass Out Parade, Parents went to Tekong to see us march around the parade square, put on our "jockey" caps and then for us to throw it in the air. After which we get to grab all our stuffs and go home for our 1 week long block leave.

9th March 2005: Officially Passed Out from BMTC School 2. Officially a Private

10th March 2005: Went to SAJC to request to retake JC2 as i failed my GP.

11th March 2005: Sick. Throat Infection. Within the next few months i'll get it again. [So suay]

18th March 2005: My horror. My vocation, Guardsman in 3rd Guards Battalion. Me, guardsman, for 2 years in ns, and the rest of my reservist life? Is it 10 years of reservist or what? ...

19th March 2005: Fully recover. 9 days of useless MCs gotten from Polyclinic and SGH... Useless as i'm on my block leave... 1 week of block leave gone !!!

21th March 2005: Report to Bedok Camp, 3rd Guards Battalion. Officially a Guardsman Private. Initially posted me to Support Company, Spike Platoon. I heard that spike is specialised as an anti-tank guardsman. I'll expect to be carrying matadors. The Encik, knowing that i'm going to disrupt, exchanged me with a guy in Charlie Rifle Company. Incidentally, that guy is called Gary, he was from SAJC and we were company mates in BMTC. So then i went to Charlie Company to be a Rifle Guardsman. Posted to Platoon 8, Section 3, bed 7.

[I should talk about my 1 week in Guards too!] [ The first day of AIT made me want to accelerate the process of my disruption, but somehow they said the S1 is quite busy...]

27th March 2005: Officially disrupted from National Service [Yeah!]

28 March 2005: Collected my Pink IC from 3rd Guards S1. Officially a Civilian again !

30th April 2005: Accepted by Nanyang Technological University. Course : Materials Science and Engineering. I'll expect the course to start in July 2007. My estimated ORD date: 22 Aug 2007 (Provided i resume NS on 1st Jan 2006 next year). So how?

30th May 2005: So how??? Hai... Accepted their offer. Try to apply again next year.

Now: Holiday, preparing for Block test 2... again??? My options now : [1. Go back to NS, won't be 3rd Guards, maybe infantry, go to Materials Engineering as per normal or ..... 2. Study hard, get to a better uni course, waste 1 year, most probably go to 1st Guards next year]
